E-cigarettes’ safety questioned by scientists
E-cigarettes gained a lot of popularity over last few years. The usage of e-cigarettes is high in many countries including some of the developing countries. E-cigarettes have been tagged safe when compared to the traditional cigarettes.
But the scientists in United States are questioning the safety of e-cigarettes and some are demanding health officials to pull back e-cigars from the market until their safety is scientifically proved.
Scientists from the University of California, Riverside, United States, have evaluated e-cigarettes of different companies, and found out many safety issues with them.
The team of researchers found some serious flaws in the e-cigarettes’s safety and design segments.
They also said there aren’t any proper scientific researches or studies which could prove the safety factor.
The team representative said that this research would go down in the book as an important study conducted on the e-cigarette’s safety.
Talking about the flaws in the E-cigarettes, the representative said, “this product has many flaws, which could cause serious public health problems in the future if the flaws go uncorrected.”
In their study, the researchers found that there is no proper instruction material available for the users to follow. They also expressed their worry over the disposal of cartridges which can harm the soil or water with nicotine content.
